This case study outlines a project led by Bianca on behalf of Altair Ltd., supporting the UK’s largest housing association to integrate its long-term sustainability goals into a clear and actionable implementation plan. The outcome: a collaborative roadmap enabling multiple operational teams to embed sustainability into their strategies from 2024 through to 2050.
Representing Altair’s Social & Affordable Housing Consultancy, Bianca guided the client through the dual challenge of asset management transformation and achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050. Her leadership resulted in the development of an implementation plan comprising 17 strategic projects across three key programmes of work.
The process included stakeholder workshops, in-depth gap analysis, and the mapping of projects to ensure alignment with the organisation’s sustainability goals and operational strategies. The result was a clear and structured roadmap that empowered the client to take decisive steps towards Net Zero while enhancing energy efficiency and modernising its asset management approach.
The project followed three key stages:
- Stakeholder Workshops: Altair facilitated workshops to assess the current operating model and envision a sustainable future state, establishing the scale of change required and the organisation’s key priorities.
- Gap Analysis & Project Structuring: The team carried out focused sessions and in-depth analysis to identify gaps, consolidate commitments, and group actions into well-defined projects within the three programmes of work.
- Project Mapping & Implementation Planning: Each project was mapped using MS Project to account for timelines, dependencies, constraints, and opportunities. A comprehensive roadmap was created with clear responsibilities, durations, and a supporting user guide for ongoing monitoring and reporting.
This structured and collaborative process enabled the client to unify siloed initiatives and translate long-term ambitions into an actionable delivery framework. It has also enhanced internal ownership of sustainability objectives, enabling a more holistic approach to Net Zero transformation.
